To be honest, theater isn’t usually my first pick for entertainment so I lack the knowledge and experience, but “Off Book” has definitely changed my view. I have never been so entertained watching anything from start to finish in my life. I was so impressed with the concept, storyline, dialogue, acting, and pretty much everything else about this play. I felt so engaged from having the character playing the director enter in the first scene from the audience to having to vote how I would like the second act to play out. I have already seen the show twice now, and I am definitely seeing it again because I am so intrigued to see the alternate endings. I am especially impressed with the writing. It was so quick, witty, and relatable that it had me laughing from start to finish. And I can’t get over how creative the whole concept of the show is with a behind the scene feel for the first act, allowing for there to be alternate endings that the audience gets to vote for during intermission, and the second act being a show within a show. So many creative ideas for a show and all in one! It’s unlike any performance you have ever seen before. So if you haven’t had a chance to see “Off Book”, go this weekend! And if you have already seen it, go again! Every performance is almost like a different show so it never loses its thrill. Trust me. You won’t be disappointed.
